     Richard Addi2

    Richard joined the management team of Exostar in early 2007.  Initially acting as the Chief Financial Officer, he was made Chief Executive Officer in 2011. 

    Richard was previously the Vice President of Finance and member of the executive management team at Data Systems Solutions (DS&S), a world leader in asset management and predictive maintenance. The company is an international technology leader in various markets, including nuclear, aerospace & defense, and energy. When Richard joined the company it was a joint venture between SAIC and Rolls-Royce.

    Prior to joining DS&S, Richard held various positions of increasing leadership, having worked for an international public accounting firm in Washington D.C. for several years before joining Atlantic Research Corporation, a subsidiary of Sequa. Richard then moved to Rolls-Royce North America where he assumed successive positions of responsibility, ultimately as Director of Tax for Rolls-Royce North America. In this position he managed the design and implementation of corporate restructurings, cross-border financing, mergers and acquisitions, and economic development. In addition, he led the design and implementation of the company’s "Building Financial Acumen" program with the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

    In addition to holding an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Marymount University, Richard is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also holds a Masters of Tax degree from The George Washington University. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two children.

    Ken Marks,  General Counsel
    Ken Marks

    Ken came to Exostar in 2001 from Columbia Energy Group, a Fortune-100 energy company, where he served as assistant general counsel. Ken provides guidance on all legal matters at Exostar and is part of the executive management team. He has also held leadership positions within private midsize Wall Street law firms. Ken brings experience in both corporate and business law – including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities compliance, negotiation and documentation – and many years of active participation in the high technology industry.

    Ken graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1977, after receiving his undergraduate degree from Columbia College. He has attended executive development programs at the University of Maryland and The Wharton School. Ken has been active in both professional and community organizations, including the American Bar Association and as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He also served as a public arbitrator of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, as a member of the board of directors of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia, and as a member of Minority Partners in Majority-Owned Law Firms.

    Ken lives in Northern Virginia and has one daughter. He is an avid photographer, scuba diver, auto racing fan, and traveler. He has built his home computers from parts since 1981.

    Vijay Takanti,  Vice President, Security & Collaboration Solutions
    Vijay Takanti

    Vijay is Vice President, Security & Collaboration services at Exostar. As such, he is responsible for the strategy and product road map, design, development, and customer delivery of these solutions. Since taking his role, Vijay has grown the Exostar Security Solutions business. Vijay has over 20 years of experience in electronic data processing, application design and development, and information security solutions. He joined Exostar through the acquisition of Evincible® Software in 2004, where he was the founder and CEO. At Evincible®, Vijay developed solutions that bridge the integration chasm between business applications and security components such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

    Prior to founding Evincible® Software, Vijay served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Society of Worldwide Interbank Telecommunication (SWIFT) where he architected the Next Generation of the SWIFT Net architecture. SWIFT is the financial industry-owned cooperative supplying secure messaging services and interface software to 7,000 financial institutions in 197 countries processing on average an estimated USD 6 trillion of payment messages.

    Vijay is recognized as an authority on the emerging and evolving technologies related to electronic signatures and digital identity management; and has consulted to a variety of enterprises on these topics. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communications from JNTU in Hyderabad, India; a Masters in Computer Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology in Khargpur; and a Masters in Business Administration from George Mason University, Virginia. Vijay lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two children. He enjoys reading good fiction or history.

    Vijay is a regular speaker at multiple seminars including UKCeB, FIXs Identity Management Conference and SIBOS (a banking association conference).

    Daniel Pfeifle, Vice President, Sales and Marketing
    Daniel Pfeifle

    Daniel joined the Exostar management team in early 2007.  As Vice President of Global Sales, Daniel is responsible for the leadership and management of Exostar’s Corporate and Tier Sales team.  He brings market-tested strategies that help Exostar customers address the business needs surrounding Security, Knowledge Sharing, and Supply Chain solutions. 

    Prior to Exostar, Daniel was the Senior Director of North America eToken Sales at Aladdin.  He was responsible for the management of their North America Sales Team, and an integral part of the global leadership team that grew Aladdin’s eToken Sales from the low six figures into a multi-million dollar business unit and into the fastest growing division within Aladdin.  He was also instrumental in the development of Aladdin's productive OEM partnerships with Cisco and VeriSign and business alliances with the Pharmaceutical PKI Bridge, (SAFE) the Bio-Pharma and the Higher Education Bridge Certification Authority (HEBCA).

    Previous to his tenure at Aladdin, Daniel held a number of business development and sales positions.  For Ubizen, one of Belgium’s largest security services companies, he led the North America Business Development activities.  In this role he developed strategic partnerships with Cisco and CheckPoint Security as well as development of their reseller channel.   Prior to this, at DocuTouch he was responsible for the opening of their East Coast operations and led their Product Management and Sales activities for the new region. 

    He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Michigan State University.  Over his career he has been an invited speaker at several events including the RSA Security Conference and EDUCAUSE PKI Summit, and has been frequently tapped to provide knowledge expertise in Identity Management. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two boys.  He is avid traveler with his family and enjoys books about political history.

    Doug Russell,  Vice President, Supply Chain Solutions
    Doug Russell

    Doug joined Exostar in the fall of 2006, and is responsible for Exostar’s Supply Chain Solutions. This includes all aspects of the programs from roadmap through deployment, implementation and support. Doug has leveraged his years of manufacturing experience to build out a lean, process-based support organization, that accelerates the client’s realization of value and benefits found in Exostar’s offerings.

    Doug has spent the bulk of his career in the military and defense industry. Spending 22 years in manufacturing, he is an executive level operations professional, experienced in management, administration, contracts, finance and general operations of military and aerospace manufacturing and IT organizations.

    During the three years prior to joining Exostar Doug was the Chief Operating Officer for a California based microelectronics company supporting most of the major missile and space programs active today. Prior to that, he was with a defense electronics company for over 18 years, manufacturing ground based vehicle components, primarily to support the M1 Abrams and Bradley vehicles as well as the Ground TOW Missile Programs. Doug spent the final 7 years there as VP President and General Manager.

    Doug began his career as a commercial pilot, and has accumulated 3000 hours over years. Today he lives in Leesburg VA with his wife and two daughters, and enjoys woodworking, exercise and time with his family.

    Patrick Kannan,  Vice President, Finance
    Patrick Kannan

    Patrick came to Exostar in 2010 and joined the management team of Exostar in early 2012.  As Vice President of Finance, he oversees the operational accounting and customer service, as well as all of Exostar’s finance and strategic planning efforts.

    Patrick brings more than 15 years of finance and accounting experience.  Prior to joining Exostar he was the Controller at Data Systems and Solutions (DS&S), a world leader in asset management and predictive maintenance, at the time a joint venture between SAIC and Rolls-Royce.  During his time at DS&S Patrick helped lead the automation and transformation of the financial planning and reporting process.  The implementation of new tools and processes, led to numerous efficiencies, as well as cost savings, and assisted the company in achieving record profitability margins over the next several years.

    Prior to DS&S Patrick held positions at Defense Group Inc., Hagler Bailly, Inc. and Hay Management Consultants. In addition to holding an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Radford University, Patrick is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is also a member of the finance committee for the LuMind Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization focused on Down Syndrome cognitive research.

    Patrick lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and three children, and enjoys supporting the local sports teams as well as spending time with his family.
