A&D Industry Leaders Gather for Exostar’s Supply Chain Knowledge Forum
Herndon, VA, September 1, 2009 – Exostar, the leading provider of secure, multi-enterprise, on-demand collaboration solutions to the aerospace and defense (A&D) industry, today announced that its most recent Supply Chain Knowledge Forum brought together supply chain, IT, and business process executives from Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and other market leaders. The event, held July 8th at Exostar’s headquarters location, focused on the increasingly critical topic in today’s uncertain global economy of supplier and supply chain risk management.
Exostar created the Supply Chain Knowledge Forum to explore current and emerging best practices related to supply chain collaboration in A&D. In this environment, Exostar shares its vision and approach, while participants network with their colleagues, engaging in peer-to-peer exchange of insights and ideas that allow them to see how this community is addressing key challenges such as supplier and supply chain risk management.
Other Forum presenters, who delivered their own perspectives and subsequently led discussions among the attendees, included:
- Bill Forbes, Director, Supply Chain Technology, Raytheon – ‘Managing Supplier Representation and Certification Processes’
- David Coltrin, Senior IT Manager, Lockheed Martin – ‘Effective Management of Supplier Information’
- Rob Schoenthaler, SVP Deployment, E2open – ‘Managing Risk in the High-Velocity Global Electronics Industry’
Exostar initiated the Supply Chain Knowledge Forum series on April 22nd. At that first session, Aberdeen Research reviewed its research into multi-enterprise supply chain collaboration in A&D. BAE Systems, Boeing, and Raytheon put Aberdeen’s findings into context, sharing case studies and emerging practices pertaining to automating the purchase-to-payment process, leveraging advance shipping notices for efficient logistics and receiving, and collaborative forecasting with suppliers.
“The Supply Chain Knowledge Forum appeals to industry executives who are searching for innovative solutions to A&D’s most compelling supply chain challenges,” said Peter Scott, Exostar’s Vice President of Supply Chain Solutions. “Participants have embraced our cooperative problem solving approach with such enthusiasm that we anticipate the Forum becoming a noted event on their calendars.”
The next Supply Chain Knowledge Forum will take place on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009. Please note that the event is executive-level, invitation-only.
