Exostar to Deliver Cybersecurity Risk Management Presentation at American Aerospace & Defense Summit 2015

Steve Parrott to Discuss Strategy and Use Case for Continuous Monitoring, Measurement, Assessment & Mitigation of Risk across the Supply Chain

HERNDON, VA, December 2, 2015 – Exostar, whose cloud-based solutions help companies in Aerospace & Defense (A&D), Life Sciences, and Healthcare mitigate risk and solve their identity and access challenges, today announced it will speak at the upcoming American Aerospace & Defense Summit 2015 conference.  Steve Parrott, Exostar’s Head of Product Management & Quality Assurance, will describe the latest advances in A&D supply chain cybersecurity risk management, and how they are being applied by The Boeing Company, at the event, to be held on December 8-9 in Scottsdale, AZ.

A&D organizations must be able to collaborate and share information securely and productively with customers, partners, suppliers, and other third-parties.  As supply chains become broader, deeper, and more geographically dispersed, they become increasingly vulnerable.  With the sophistication and frequency of cyber attacks on the rise, so are the odds of compromise and adverse consequences, particularly targeting suppliers who lack cybersecurity maturity.

Parrott’s presentation will examine the challenges buyers and suppliers traditionally have faced in working together to efficiently and effectively combat cyber threats.  He will discuss an evolving A&D cybersecurity model that addresses these challenges through proactive, continuous risk management.  This model and accompanying Exostar solution encourages ongoing cooperation and a stronger overall supply chain cybersecurity posture by standardizing evaluation criteria, minimizing repetitive information collection, and offering a clear roadmap for improvement.  Parrott will share an A&D use case that demonstrates how Boeing is taking an organizational approach that leverages best practices and real-time techniques to better monitor, measure, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risk throughout its global, multi-tier supply chains.

The American Aerospace & Defense Summit will bring together industry leaders to delve into strategies to optimize manufacturing, research, and development in A&D.  Attendees will learn how to drive innovation in a competitive landscape, mitigate costs, and maximize supplier relationships through improved visibility, management, and security.
