Exostar Wins BioPharma Research Council Innovation Award

Company Recognized as “Collaboration Enabler”

HERNDON, VA, June 24, 2014 – Exostar, whose cloud-based solutions enable secure, cost-effective business-to-business collaboration, today announced it received the Collaboration Enabler D2D Innovation Award from the BioPharma Research Council (BRC).  The BRC presented the award to Exostar at the D2D: Data to Drugs & Diagnostics conference earlier this month.  The event brought together researchers and IT professionals from across the biopharma community to share best practices for leveraging cloud computing and emerging technologies to facilitate the generation, acquisition, analysis, exchange, and security of data from early discovery and clinical trials through to patient interactions.

The BRC recognized Exostar for its cloud-based Life Sciences Identity Hub, a connect-once environment that brings together life sciences and healthcare organizations, individuals, applications, and data.  Exostar’s Secure Access Manager authenticates user identities to control access to applications and information based on rules and privileges defined by asset owners.  Exostar’s SecureShare service offering, built on Microsoft SharePoint, allows organizations and individuals to securely collaborate across enterprise boundaries.  More than 10,000 users in 50 countries on 6 continents rely on the Life Sciences Identity Hub to conduct business.

“Collectively, the Exostar solution suite helps manufacturers, contract research organizations, laboratories, healthcare providers, and others in the industry solve their most acute challenges, from speeding new drug research and development to effectively prescribing controlled substances,” said Tom Johnson, Exostar’s Senior Director of Pharma and Life Science Solutions.  “The BRC’s D2D Innovation Award reflects the value and importance of secure collaboration we share with our rapidly growing community of customers.”
